Bhaktapur Durbar Square

I visited Bhaktapur Durbar Square today, my last weekend in Nepal. I figured that I went to see the other two, so I might as well see the last one. While this one was beautiful, it was not worth the $15 US entry fee!!! Yikes. It was the last of my Nepali money, and I knew I was coming back for one day and needed a little bit of cash to get from the airport and back, so I had to take out more money, which I didn’t like. In any case, I think my favourite Durbar Square is Patan’s, mostly because it wasn’t expensive to get into and the museum let me take pictures. πŸ™‚ But, also, because the structures were the nicest I think and it was slightly bigger. Apparently Bhaktapur Square is the most preserved, which is why it cost $15 to get in. On top of that though, it was a 700 rupee taxi ride to get there, so I was a little disappointed in how expensive it was. There was a museum here as well, but I didn’t go in, because it was an extra 300 rupees and I needed the cash to get back to the volunteer house. All in all though, it was a nice place, except for the creepy guide who kept following me and asking me if I needed a guide!!!

Can’t believe my trip to Nepal has ended already! I’m off to Bhutan tomorrow!!
