img_51911I’m an award-winning journalist with more than a decade of experience telling the stories of people who make a difference. I love reading the New York Times magazine, writing about the ins and outs of Parliament Hill and cabernet sauvignon (not necessarily in that order).

My true passion lies in global affairs and human rights. While working full time I completed a master’s degree on journalism’s role in international development from Carleton University to complement my undergrad in political science with a concentration in international relations.

I spent 2014 traveling and volunteering in South Asia, focusing on women’s empowerment. My need to know the world has taken me to 16 countries so far, including India, Nepal, Bhutan, Laos, Mexico and Rwanda.

I call Ottawa home, where I’m currently a freelance writer and communications manager at Compass Rose Group. I’m also the former editor of Power & Influence magazine and previously ran The Hill Times‘ website.

When I’m not thinking about politics or website traffic, you can find me at any number of restaurants trying the duck confit or cheese board. Deadlines still amuse me.
